Re: Diff Swappability

The 3 door EN Civic had a diff ratio of 4.25.
The EN wagon had a diff ratio of 4.65
They were both 5 speed.

The 4 speed EB gearbox has a 4.93 diff ratio.
The rare EB "RS" 5 speed had a 4.71 diff ratio.

The Early Accord EG motor was 74x93 (1597cc). This was replaced by the EL motor which was 77x86 (1602cc). The EK motor is 77x94 (1751cc). It's difficuilt to find an EK motor in Australia. I suggest you over bore an EL block from 77 to 79mm, and use the 93mm crank from an EG motor, giving 1824cc. The...

Re: Still not bloody running. why? why? why?

I had similar problems with a battery.
If the car was left unused for a couple of days, the battery would die.

It was shortening out through a dud alternator.

Re: Gearbox Strength

Both the T1 and the T2 have the "GR" gearbox.

They should have the same 4.05 diff ratio.

LSD for AA City

There was a local machinest that did a custom "Quaife type" LSD for Adrian Taylor's rally car. It was in a standard GR gearbox. These are no longer available. I have it in my road going T2 at the moment. The other option is to fit a 5 speed "GN" gearbox from a Series 2 Civic, and...

Diffs for EL conversion

Has anyone made progress with the EL conversion ? You are kidding yourselves if you think you can get the power to the ground with an standard 'open' diff. I have the 'Quaife' type Torsen LSD diffs. They would be ideal for an EL conversion. I run one in my rally car with NO problems. Am looking at g...
