definetly a respray as all the interior and engin ebay still shows thhe original black paint.

In the wider of the full body shots it does look tough in the sorta matte grey though!

if not doing it in neutral I'd say its just the turbo boosting?
Mine did that when ever boosting up? Thats one one to describe it anyway. a Hissing that is.

Do you have a boost guage?
If not fit one v.easy and can use a cheapo one .

on previous cars we just had the same, a switch to cut circuit going to the, whats it called, bugger. the thing that leads off to the startmotor and the distributor cap.... my brother mini, like old race cars has many switches, ie fuel pump etc. ..if not all in correct places as some have three sett...
