Henry

We used the place in Edwardstown (CV & Drive Shaft Centre) for replacement (recon?) shafts for our Civic / City Turbo. They seem pretty darn good, no noise or clicking despite a number of ferocious wheel spinning take offs now and then.

Regards

John

I think with older hondas, a worn inboard joint can be replaced/reconditioned but if the outboard joint is worn the whole CV must be replaced.

EDIT:
Nope, aparrently you cant recondition them because individual parts are not available. If the inboard is worn you can replace that, if the outboard is worn you replace the whole shaft.

my lhs cv on the t2 is on the way out big time.....clicking real loud.
and the right dosent seem too far off
smithy had them rconditioned not long before i bought it off him so i guess they did a bodgey job of it.
so from reading this topic i guess its safe to say that if i go and buy a set of pro t cv joints they will bolt straight up and be as good as new t2 ones(because they are the same)right?

Okay, I went to these people in January 2004 and they were quick and neat.

A & F Driveshaft Repairs,
2/35 Clarence Street
Coorparoo.

07 3847 8200

$180.00 including fitting.  Whole job completed in less than 30 minutes (left side).

They can, and do, ship Australia wide.  Turbo drive shafts in stock.

Give them a go.  If you still need the shaft that is.

regards,
Campbell

Turbocab, please check through the reciepts I gave you there should be a reciept for the CV work done to the car...
by Repco service centre Victoria Point Qld.
Who also happened to dent and crack paint on the front left wheel arch AND deny any responisbility for it.

those puppies (by that I mean sons of female dogs).
what sort of warranty should this work carry?!
Im really pissed about that... we've refused to go back after that fiasco...read my posts about it...

bro i checked through all the recipts in the massive pile of paperwork you supplied with the car and cant find that particular reciept ???
even if they do warranty it its a bit too far to drive to get a cv fixed.

just called this guy and he tried to feed me some bullshit story about all the drive shafts and cvs being different between pro t t1 and t2 >:( he got quite jumpy when i told him i was 99% sure they are all the same :-/ he then proceeded to tell me the life story of citys how pro ts were an aussie model and t1&2 are imports....no shit :o
he wanted me to send up the drive shafts and cvs so he could check them to make sure he was sending me the right bits.there must be someone down here that can get prot ones(that will be the same as t2)
