Split Hose help

The hose that runs from the rocker cover to underneath the throttle body has great big dirty split in it. (see pics) What does the hose do?

Its split twice on my car, caused it to hunt badly both times.

Other then that can't tell you what excatly it does.

Its the positive crankcase ventilation pipe. If thats got a split it means youve pretty much got a great big dirty vacuum leak. The symptoms of which could be many, and include hunting as hyper describes.

try find any old hose that fits for the mean time, see if that fixes the hunting, or other issues...
