Vacuum hose number 28

What is it for?

In my engine bay it has the little metal thing is it supposed to be connected to it just sits beside it, not on it beside it.

It keeps coming off when i go for a drive....why would this be?

Maybe the hose is just old and tired and the boost pops it off. Try cutting off like 20-30mm of it and putting it back on, usually its just the end of the hose that gets stretched.
