BIG' IS GOOD :)

depends a lot on how much you want to play with things i guess, bigger intercoolers can require more bracketry.
as for turbos try and get a unit rebuilt with the city exhaust housing so its a bolt on, the newer VF series dont fit unless you start playing with new manifolds etc which is a big mission.
I can reccomend a turbo shop that has done the turbo for my own car (going strong)

Cheers

I might be able to do a hybrid turbo on my new lathe, depends if the swing is big enough to fit a T1 or T2 exhaust housing in it. Will find out soon, the last one I did I did on the lathes at uni.

As for the intercooler you are mainly limited by packaging constraints in a city. As big as you can and not a long and skinny one.

As for what turbo is a good choice you need to find compressor maps and match them against your engine specs go here:

http://www.squirrelpf.com/turbocalc/index.php

and follow the instructions. Youll probably find (as I did) that most common turbos are poorly suited to a city turbo engine, the one I chose for my 200hp build is very good but too big for an otherwise stock motor, actually I wonder if a t25 center could be made to fit a t1 exhaust housing... Will have a look at that at some stage.
