I've got a few questions regarding My wife's Turbo II powered civic convertible, First off, when you start it up, it goes into high idle mode, when it warms up it starts to drop off idle, and as it does this the idle surges up and down for a bit, and then smooths out. Secondly the con rod bearing had a knock, we managed to replace it in time before any damage to the bottom end, we also replaced the oil pump at the same time. We now notice that the car smokes heavy at idle, but if you bring up the rpm just 500 it stops ??? I've had a few guys look at it and they all say it's the turbo...if so, what turbo would you suggest i go with?

could be your valve stem seals in general, it will probably do it after hard deacceleration, check your tubo piping for oil, could also be oil rings
