Re: Front Door Speaker
I used te brackets that came with the door and uszed 4.5" spkrs I think... being high on door and of a
better quality (esp/ now with JVC head unit, amplifier, and sub in boot)...you dont really need any bigger than
that or you'll be deafened LOL.
Id stick with same saize you took out...just shop around for quality speakers and good head unit...will
sound much better...

Re: Front Door Speaker
oh my god, drilling?! what are you drilling at???!
I take no responsibility for you drilling anything!!! LOL.
Do you still have the OE speakers and brackets etc.
take bracket out and take it to the car stereo
shop if needed......
..oh! you might wanna look at threading through
thicker speaker wire as the stuff form the stock speakers to head unit is pretty skinny.
oh, once more, I dont think theres anything involved that needs DRILLING......only need a screw driver!

Re: Front Door Speaker
Ok I got you now!!! I thought you meant putting the speaker on the cover itself.
My city doesn't have any speaker or audio before so I guess I better go to an audio shop to find something to put in that oversize bracket!!!
Thanks!!!

Re: Front Door Speaker
I have 6 1/2 inch kevlar speekers, simply used original brackets, but drilled new holes in original brackets that the speeker screws in, then screw the bracket to the inner door
Edit: I actually had to use tin snips to cut away at original bracket so the magnet on the speeker sat correctly and flush

Re: Front Door Speaker
Replacing the factory one would seem the sensible option...
Other places could be:
glovebox
under the passenger seat (seams silly but it has been done before...)
make a new spot in your dash
etc
be creative

Re: Front Door Speaker
Hey.
I got a pair of 6inch xplods in the front of my city.
Just used the speaker as a template to cut the original speaker bracket with a jigsaw.
Fits like a glove... also got two boxed 6x9's, and 2 Alpine 12inch subs in a custom box in the rear.
The bass does no good the the little rattly city shell but.

Pure class 85CITYPROT must crank hard, sounds like you need to arm yourself with some silicon sealer or something, crank some tunes and go around and silicon every surface thats rattling. Man your city must drive like a pig with all that kit AND people in it!!

Re: Front Door Speaker
how the hell!
6x9s ...........on the front doors?
I fitted same as stock size, but VDO two ways, about 120 watt.
Clarion boxed 10 inch sub 600watt bridged, some kinda 1000watt amp....all nicely wires hidden.
