What's that little thingy.....
A question guys. Does anybody know the function of that little thing screwed on to the top centre of the firewall in the engine bay? It has two vacuum hose connections coming out the bottom and one out the top, although the one on the top of mine just had a cap on it. I have not seen one on a T2, on...

Re: T1 for sale
Update on car. Now fixed!! Replaced the head gasket....again, and drove from Newcastle back to canberra. It drove so well down the freeway I have decided to keep it. It runs like a gem now. Sorry to any potential buyers for now, however the car might be for sale early next year in Canberra as I am ...

Re: Fuel Consumption
I finally fixed my City T1 and drove it from Newcastle to Canberra (420km). It used 25L of optimax in the process. That is a bit less than 6L per 100km and I'm prertty darn happy with that! Considering that the wind resistance on these little buggers is woeful and you're pretty much always on thrott...

Re: Hi, Im new.
That's got to be the fuel cut kicking in. I thought that car had a fuel cut defender. maybe it has been taken out. In turbo cities the factory fuel cut is set to cut in at around 15 pound of boost. The car must have a boost controller somewhere if you're making that kinda boost. Adjust it off a...

Re: Hi, Im new.
There you go Jacko. Car did run well. I didn't think the BOOSTmeister would sell a piece of shit to someone so the problem is likely to be minor OR something has happened when the next owner (previous to you) had the car. Glenn has been a great help to me, sending me parts for my T1 in the post f...

Re: Hi, Im new.
Hey Luke (city_cab). Sorry to go off the subject a bit but that importer in Cardiff doesn't have any T1 engines and is not likely to get any more in the near future. To the newbie. I know all about the problems one can have with these engines...just rerad about my plight over the last year. DO N...

Re: FS:- NA head gasket kit
Bullshit. Really?? The parts shops in my area, Canberra are quoting up around $200 and that's just for the gasket not the VRS kit (Repco, Honda, and ISP). They each say that the old part has been superseded with a more expensive one. Surely 3 different shops couldn't be yanking my chain. Ended ...

Re: T1 for sale
Car still for sale. Waiting on my mate to take some photos. Unless I get a decent offer though I'm going to keep it and fix it myself when I get back up to Newcastle in late June. Keep your eye out here for some photos shortly.

Re: FS:- NA head gasket kit
Hey Matty. After raining on your parade, it turns out that I need a head gasket for my T1. I don't need the rest of the kit but I thought I might buy it off you anyway if its still for sale. Let me know if you still have it. You can leave me a message on this site if you like. P.S. I'm in Canbe...

Re: Planing the block
Oh frig. I'm not positive about the gasket as yet but it is likely. It is also likely that I didn't put the damn thing in properly in the first place. When I pulled the head off I did not leave the manifolds attached, which meant that it was a shit of a thing to get out and get back in. My broth...

Planing the block
Hey guys. When i put in my new cylinder head I got the head shaved but didn't think of getting the block planed a bit. It looked flat and smooth enough. I now have a possible head gasket breach and was wondering if anybody has had a similar thing happen in a city or another car. How difficult is...
