Re: A&G Holdings in NZ (City gaskets)
Do any of you guys in N.Z. have a contact for someone who sells the head gasket alone for a city turbo?

Re: tail lights
The brake lights still work fine though. It's the tail lights that come on and they do this before the keys even come anywhere near the ignition. As soon as you hook the battery up!!!

tail lights
For some reason, the tail lights (not brake lights) in my T1 come on as soon as a battery is connected. This happens pre-ignition. First it happened to one tail light and then the other as well a few days later. I'm thinking it must be a relay somewhere but I can't find the damn thing. Anybody h...

Re: overheating...why?...why?..why?
Fan working fine. I'm hoping that the thermostat initially not opening (which might have been caused by an airlock below it) and consequently the engine overheat did not cause the head gasket to blow. If this happened, and compression gasses are now entering the cooling system, this could be a pos...

overheating...why?...why?..why?
Hey crew. Just went up to Newcastle with the hope of driving my T1 down to Canberra after a bit of a patch up. Was running really badly previously, like on 3 cyls. Replaced the cam with a reground and machined one and replaced a cracked CVCC valve. All of this went well and when I reset the cam t...

Re: Problems getting Manifold off
Yes you do need to get all of this stuff off first. It is a bit of a chore. Once you take all the throttle body + injectors/fuel rail etc off, the nuts are clearer to see and get at. I'm pretty sure from memory that the manifold is still a bitch to get off whilst the head is still on. Did you o...

Re: FS:- NA head gasket kit
Hey Matt. Sorry to rain on your parade buddy, but only the head gasket for this kit is of any use for the turbo version of the city. The head gasket can be used but the other parts of the NA kit like manifold gaskets and valve stem seals and the like can only be used on the NA version. You'd be b...

Re: I bought another one :)
Head gaskets are not the same but apparently a NA city one will go onto the turbo version. I think Charles said that he had one holding about 25 pounds of boost or something!

Hey I got it out. Sheeat that was stuck in there! Had to use a big set of those lock grip pliers and a slide hammer but it came out. So I guess now i know.

How do you get a CVCC valve out?
Hey crew. I had a cylinder head that I took off my T1 and someone had taken the valves out and welded them shut and put them back in. They were really easy to take out. Just undo the large retaining nut and pull straight out the top. Unfortunately I'm having more trouble pulling a CVCC valve out ...

WTB: CVCC valve
Hey crew. I'm interested in buying 1 complete CVCC (that's the little ones at the front) valve. They are easy to remove, you just undo that large holding nut with the external thread at the base of the valve and pull the whole thing out. I'm hoping that someone out there has an old cyl head lying...

Re: T1 too lean!
Going back to the original topic on this thread. I took the CVCC valves out of the cylinder head that I took out of my T1. the valves have been welded closed at the bottom so they don't open at all (Obviously the reason why the CVCC rockers had been removed). The CVCC valves are really easy to re...

Cam rebuilds
I have been looking in to getting a CVCC cam lobe rebuilt for one of my city turbo cams. There doesn't seem to be anyone who does it in the Canberra area. These blokes here send it off to Qld to be done and the cost to me is a minimum of $180. Has anyone had one of theirs done recently? Where di...
