Re: WTB City Turbo
Once again i agree with Henry on this one. $2500 will not get you much of a City T, for a decent one you should be budgeting 5k plus, especially for a T2...

Re: model variants...
Henry is right there. Pro and Pro T are the Aus delivered carby 1231cc version. T1 is the same body as the pro with injected turbo engine, ventilated brakes, different interior etc. T2 has a different throttle and inlet manifold, slightly larger turbo, bigger brakes and a different colour interio...

Im still running the stock honda pump at the moment, probably going to upgrade to the VL type soon. As for the manifold and stuff its been put on hold for a bit as i just bought a...

Re: External fuel pump
The standard pump is indeed an external type and your VL pump should be an easy upgrade. The stock one is located next to the tank at the passenger side. There is a plastic cover there protecting it. I wouldn't bother about using the stock one as a feed pump, just swap them over. As for the fuel ...

Re: Wierd Noise
I believe that it has very little or no effect on the life/reliability of a turbocharger.
Any blow off valve will work on the city turbo as they use a MAP sensor which isn't as sensitive to leakage as an airflow meter.

Re: Wierd Noise
Congratulations! Must be a great feeling to have it all up and running! The noise you are hearing would be compresser flutter. It happens when you are on boost and then you close the throttle. What happens is you have the volume in the 'cooler pipes under pressure/flow conditions and then you sud...

Keep in mind that they are far more common in NZ though so they are worth a bit more here in aus.

Re: How to take out the cat?
You need to curse and swear alot! ;D
Its a painful job. All of those nuts and bolts have endured nearly 20 years of hot/cold/hot/col and are TIGHT!
Tip - Use plenty of lubricating spray on all threads.

Re: parts

Also have a couple of throttle bodies... Make an offer.

Re: Looking for a City
Looking at getting a mini and transplanting in a Toyota Starlet GT turbo engine...
Gotta finish off the cityT first though, still waiting on the head, need the time to put this turbo and manifold on etc... Still want to run a 13s qtr in it!

Re: Oil in the intercooler
It's common in a turbocharged engine to get some oil in the cooler pipes. It's caused by 'blow by' where oil is forced out of the breather under boost and into the intake system. It's not a really desireable thing to have happening as the fine mist of oil finds its way back into the engine and whe...
