Towing

Postby Turbo3 » Mon May 26, 2003 8:29 am

Hey all,

I'm looking at putting a towbar on the blue T2 to pull the kart around. A small trailer should do fine and the kart isn't that heavy. Should make for a tidy little racing package.  ;D
Does anyone have any recommendations on weight limits or possible issues when towing with a T2?

I guess if the kart breaks down, I could just run the car instead eh!  ;) :o

I would recommend a maximum towing limit of 0.75 grams.

Hi Pete

I tow my 13' fibreglass race boat with my cabriolet all the time it seems to handle it fine.  I phoned the local honda guys since it seems that my towbar is a proper honda one for a recommended max towing weight but they had no idea although figured it would be on par with the max weight for the new Jazz which is 400kg.  I've also email honda nz about this but they can't give a weight.  I was thinking of throwing my boat on the truck scales at work to get a weight on it.  I'll see if I can organise it this week and let you know how it goes.

Cheers

Tony

Yo Tony,

Cheers for that! Couldn't see the kart and trailer being any more than that, so I guess I'm good to go!! ;D

i towed a 1300 kg 68 nissan personal six with jammed brakes(which made especially hard to push) in my eb1 civic, my speedo got to a grand total of 51 ks, so reckon a t2 will have no probs with a kart.

Cheers dude!
So hows life over in Aus?

Saw the yellow T2 a couple of weeks back. Just caught it in my mirror going across an intersection I'd just been through. Looks pretty distinctive eh!  ;D
Must catch up with Cam.
