I have been recording my fuel usage against my driving KM.
I am not one of those people who always keep the right foot down, but I found the car use lots of fuel. :o
Now the car is running at 8.5/100km, The car is a non-turbo 1.2 Leaded.
I recently have change: :'(
Oil,
Oil filter,
Air filter,
Spark plug,
Spark plug leads,
Fuel Filter,
battery...........
And most of the time I change before it reach 5000Rpm
Any idea why it is running on 8.5 it is no where near the spec which saids 4 to 6. ??? ???

Re: Fuel Consumption
All of your symptoms (fuel consumption, smokey, goes through oil etc) are all signs of a generally tired, worn out engine.
Mine does 8ish, but the engine is FAAARKED! Well, not completely, but its getting there :-/ new engine with forgies here we come (if the guy will sell it to me...)

I thought i ought to update that last statement. As you can probably see by the lack of jumping and dancing on my part, he decided not to sell :'(

My friend has told me about a 1.6L from some other car (yet to get details, I assume some small turbo japanese box). Ill PM you when I find out if you want.
Its meant to be able to just slip right in.

Re: Fuel Consumption
I am interested to hear what he suggests.
Re: Fuel Consumption
I finally fixed my City T1 and drove it from Newcastle to Canberra (420km). It used 25L of optimax in the process. That is a bit less than 6L per 100km and I'm prertty darn happy with that! Considering that the wind resistance on these little buggers is woeful and you're pretty much always on throttle to combat that, these are good figures.
Re: Fuel Consumption
I have just install the Prozone fuel conversion thing. Fuel just jump from around 6L/100k to 9L/100k.
But this is only the first week. Will let you guys know in a few weeks after its been run-in.
