Project closer to end.. *picys*

Postby QikLude » Tue May 18, 2004 9:19 pm

My T1 Major overhaul is starting to get some color added and things put BACK into the shell!!

Image

I have been replacing all the objects in the engine bay this week but i took this photo before i did, it shows the new blue paint nicely, except the nice amounts of pearl it has.

It should be back on its wheels in a couple of days, and then...

this stuffed back into the engine bay :)
I will be able to tell hell that cool hybrid turbo works finaly!

(for other picys during the project goto http://www.cityturbo.com/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=albuo03&page=1)

Cheers

Lookin cool! Is that the bumper I see in the first pic? Is it going to stay yellow? What's that cover on the indicator hole?
Awesome work! May get to see it next time we stay with my girlfriends parents in Nelson!  ;)

Hey all.

Thanks for the comments :)

The red sump was bit of an experiment with powdercoating... so it came out realy good :)

Got a bit carried away with engine enamle!

Turbo3 - Yes give me or tim (pgnuta) a buzz if your coming through!!

I will track you down in chch next time im there otherwise ;)

The bumper will just be a standard one for a start, color matched the same blue color.

The engine bay color is the color the entire car will be.

Cheers

wow, that is a very nice colour [the engine bay]! What is that colour called?

The engine also looks great... very original, and would look sexy in the engine bay :D

Another update...

Project coming closer to the end very quickly.

New fuel pump is here.. Bosch unit way big enough for the city!
(014 pump)
Image

Battery removed to rear of car, large front mount intercooler found, soon to make pipework when my new bender arrives. Engine bay as you can see is complete
Image

I now have solex locks for all the doors / hatch.
Image

The windows go back in tonight, should have the rear hatch assembled and hung back on the car this weekend, as well and fuel pump / tank etc all mounted.
It will basicly be ready to fire except for intercooler pipe work / filter.

I will be hopefully giving the paintwork a full cut / polish this weekend, i has around 6 layers of clear so it should come it beautiful!

Its then just finish the doors/bumpers put guards on and do exhaust!

Cheers

They are locks that use the funny round security key that is very hard to pick and impossible to screwdriver, a very good investment  :D you can see it in the picture

Yip, solex locks are are differenet style of lock, round not flat,no more screwdriver attacks!

and yes, it has the nasty hybrid turbo, big injectors etc... so the big frontmount will be quite handy for that :)

Windows are now in and the rear of the car looks kinda complete finaly :)

Cheers for the comments!
