Its actually quite possible you might be able to get a 7.5 and 9 inch wide 13" tire, lots of race cars still use 13" tires, formula 1 does I think, as do many other small open car racers, I have seen very low profile 13" tires on an open racer recently, the were around the sizes mentioned above, these were from hoosier.

The original spring rates for the city turbo racers were 6kg front springs and 9kg rear springs, this is what i have had in my car for some time and it is NOT what you want in a road car, the fronts are about right but the rears need to be at leasst half that stiff to keep it on the road.

Surely those spring rates are around the wrong way or the rears were a misprint!? 9kg in the rear of a city is rediculous! 1/2 that would be too stiff IMO.

BTW, good on you Turbocab for doing this. Almost makes me want to get a City again! :)

Nah thats the rates, it was for a race track and that kind of rate completely removes body roll. For road use half of that would be too stiff, I think around 3-4kg would be around what you would want in a road car.

5kg/mm front
12kg/mm rear

My bad, those other spring rates must have been a misprint, or maybe they used them for rougher tracks.

That 12kg/mm is definately a miss-print. There is no way they would use those rates in the rear, it would be most silly.

Yeha I was thinking about this the other day, a 600kg race weight would be about right for a race city, this is probably close to 400kg front and 200kg rear or 350 front and 250 rear, this means each of those 12kg/mm springs would have 125kg max on them, this means they would comress 10mm from full droop to static, and if during cornering the corner weight incresed by 100% which is a lot but possibl if the inside wheel lifts up which it may do, then thats only compressing it 20mm which is sweet f**k all and would make for a ridculously uncontrollable car on anything but a billiard table

Oh yeah kept forgetting to ask you, can you hook me up with the first few digits of your chassis number, thats how they hunt for parts at honda at least. Take some measurements of your boots if you can and I will compare them to mine, I know you can get new boots for my car in NZ
