i used black sikaflex comes in a normal caulking gun size tube or the sausage to fit the gun pictured i think its sikaflex 243 we use a ton of it at work(carpenter) and it seems to stick to anything.dont know if it is the right product but it seems to be working just fine and i was happier to use that stuff rather than silastic windscreen sealer as that shit never fully cures,or so i am told.
I finally saw this car in the flesh this week.
My asinine alliteration skills can not do it justice, it looks "heaps good" in real life!
My eyes are still stinging from the brightness of the paint and my head is ready to explode from the fatness of the guards!
Excellent work by all those involved and a freakin' great looking car!

The city is about to undergo another transformation.
It will finally be getting the engine that it deserves,I have purchased a d16y8 vtech turbo and when I pick it up in less than a week or so I am going to begin shoehorning this bad boy into little orange.
Watch for pics and updates soon I will do my best to keep you all informed of the progress.

Yeah thanks champ I know how to spell vtec
So on Saturday I picked up the engine, wiring loom, ecu hondata, drive shafts,3in exhaust, inter cooler and piping, dash cluster etc etc.
After a quick measure up thesarvo it is clear I am going to have to chop a heap out of the intake manifold, problem is it is a rather expensive after market job and I'm not sure if I can bring myself to taking to it with an angle grinder and tig so I might look for a standard one and make up a complete custom plenum shouldn't be too much trouble.
Next will be the turbo manifold,it has a big ramhorn style stainless manifold and by the looks of it it will never fit.the guy I bought it off said he had another one that was fairly lower profile so I will hassle him in the next few days to go pick it up from his mate.
I don't think I will be getting much done until July as I am taking my new girlie away for a month up to cape York to do the old telegraph track and some bara fishing for a month.
So I have been making progress albeit slow,I bought a pair of hasport billet mounts From the boys at jdmyard Sydney, for the left hand side and will use one for the right hand side as you will see in the following pics.cut this hole to clear the nuts welded to the underside of the piece of plate.
Here's the mount bolted to the plate
I cut up the standard mount that bolts to the gearbox and made up this bad boy
Weld close up
