Re: T2 doggystyle
you should see what i had to cut and wield, it nearly made me cry when i first discovered how much rust there actually was.... everywhere its already had one tuck and cut so when i get back from os i'm gonna turn it into sub ten sec 1200 turbo honda city or have a fricken good go at it, i'll post some piccys of my head aches, ie bottom of both a pillars, front chassis brace, rear sub frame mounts (re wield) back guards below rev lights, you'll see what i mean.

Re: T2 doggystyle
well its funny youu mention rust!
Im still in the process of derusting my one!
Both rear guards are rooted and im rebuilding them...
at the bottom of the windscreen is eaten out, both sides, drivers side is really bad.
At the rear, both corners.
Just in front of rear wheel, under where the plastic crap was, passengers side has fist sized hole
Around the rear hatch latch, just finished rebuilding a hole there...
and a few other misc patchs :-[
Im starting to love my new mig welder, and im getting lots of practise!!
I would love to see your photos, and see if its the same spots!
Cheers

Re: T2 doggystyle
Couldn't be too bad if it only took one day ;D
The rust on mine isn't too bad, except a big hole in the firewall area near the brake booster. ::) I've also got rust in the roof where the hatch hinges of all places.
Because my car was prevoiusly re-painted, theres a lot more work in sanding it back.
Nice work BTW.

Re: T2 doggystyle
yeah cheers for the photos dude
My car has had several repaint / touchups in places to..
Its really annoying.
I will take some photos of the car this weekend to show some of the rust holes Im having to patch, very similar to some of yours.
Except the front one you put a new plate in.
Mines REALLY bad there.

Re: T2 doggystyle
sounds fun!
Ive just finished doing the major holes in the rear of my car, so just need to do the front ones and rear guards pretty much now.
I went to take the photos but my camera had flat batterys
A mig welder with gas is definatly the biz for welding out small rust holes and such!
hey whats this cavity wax stuff?
Ive got some anti rust paint thats pretty nasty (por 15) that i was going to put under some of the nasty spots.
Cheers

Re: T2 doggystyle
cavity wax.. its justa liquid wax thes goes hard after you spray it, its the stuff they ues to spray the iside of your doors etc to stop rust from factory.. its good shit, comes in a litre tin with an underbody gun fitting so you just fit your gun and spray.. you should be able to get it from any automotive paint shop.
