Re: air conditioner
Went but wasn't really neccessary, besides it weighs to much and sucks power, so it went, straight in the rubbish. If I get hot I'll just put the roof down....
Oh yeah and the hole where the compressor was makes a perfect place for a decent air intake

Re: air conditioner
Yeah,
It was sooo good to remove mine too!! ;D
Looking at doing the intake from there on my "std" T2. Also was looking at front mounting the two intercoolers I had, but it's a bit tight. May just throw one of them up front. Hey it's got to work better than it's std position eh! Did have the aircon working on my white one for a while. It went OK, but you noticed the loss of power. Binned it when it ran out of fluid.

Re: air conditioner
Mine worked...then ran out of gass...haven't filled it since.
But always useful when frosty cold to keep the fog away from windscreen.

Re: air conditioner
And the other thing is in NZ, given it's age Citys will probably be using R12 hole in ozone, nasty sunburn gas and while you can still get them refilled most places push for getting the system modified to run R134a gas so just another unneccesary expense...

Re: air conditioner
I've never seen a city with working air conditioning. My first one had had it removed, my second one didn't work so I removed it and my third one didn't either so I've removed it. By the way, if you want to reduce weight, the ac compressor weighs about 12 kgs. Including the bracket and radiator thingys it weighed more than 20 kgs.
Re: air conditioner
Mine still has working airconditioner and its staying there. Guess I'm just an old fart that would rather be cool than fast!! Henry
