I bought another one :)

Postby Brendan » Sun Apr 04, 2004 9:31 pm

Picked it up today!  ;D  ;D  ;D  Its a white 84' T2 in pretty darn good condition and is now living at my brother's (aka fader) house while we fix it up.

It needs a rocker cover, dizzy, new head gasket and intercooler to get it going.  I'm right for the cooler and head gasket (from what I remember the head gasket is the same as the NA city) but if anyone can help us out with the rocker cover and dizzy we'd be very appreciative!

Still working out the plans for it but its going to be a real weapon once its on the road!

Pics coming tomorow!

Dont think it'll go as hard as the 200, but being a small light car it'll probably feel just as quick :)

The sun roof is cool, bit of a bonus... I'm pretty sure the wheels are standard city t items.  We'll get some better pics of it soon.

hmm maybe they are standard, not sure about T1's though.

The mirrors are actually electric... is that common?

We removed the wind screen, bonnet and bumper last night and killed about 15 giant red backs  :o

Hey congrats Brendan on the T2.

Is it true that the head gaskets off the T2 are the same as on a NA city?

Also on the Electric mirrors just wrecking a t1 at the moment and it also had electric mirrors but the motors were removed . From what i understand, they were an optional item from the factory. Along with an optional exhaust and drip guards.

One day i was changing the battery, couldn't get the arms off that hold it...then just before i stick my hand down there i look and see a spec of red...was a HUGE red back...unbelieveable!

We've killed alot more red backs... even had to let off a couple of those insect killer bombs to wipe out any living thing in faders garage :)

benhnz1: yup boostboy has advised the head gasket for turbos is the same as the n/a city.  I've ordered one from repco for $47.

Got a rocker cover from civic_killer (cheers mate ;) ) and some other parts are on the way.  Chris (fader) spent most the day removing the rust around the windscreen and bogging it up which is looking good.

Those wheels are dam light!  Pretty awesome... think we'll keep them :)

Should be another few weeks before we're up and running... then its mod time :D

Head gaskets are not the same but apparently a NA city one will go onto the turbo version.  I think Charles said that he had one holding about 25 pounds of boost or something!
