Yeah i've just done it on my new one, was lucky to catch it in time, my old T2 was history because of the amount of rust it had around the top of the firewall.

Hay nice work gingernuts , I'm planing on doing this on my new T2 (1day).
on the topic of rust i just got a quote for rust repairs on my cab & they want $1500 for all the rust on the car *Ouch*Yeah i've just done it on my new one, was lucky to catch it in time, my old T2 was history because of the amount of rust it had around the top of the firewall.

yeah not the same style but theres some nice looking offset involved i do believe.
my project update...tomorow i pour the concrete slab for my new garage that i excavated under the house so the city gets stripped shortly after,i bought a mig welder off ebay the other night.and ime kinda getting all interested again about doing the rebuild.

Sounds wicked man, you should get onto it so I can come over for a drive! Start practicing with that mig as soon as you've got it, panel steel is a bit of a pain to weld
