YOU ALL CRAZY but i love it keep up all the ideas ;D.
what about a Charade turbo Gtti motor (efi twin cam turbo with lsd diff. ) or a Sr20 non turbo 140kw. may fit but will most definatly make the car unbalanced. Or is there a twin cam head that will fit the city motor.
I have so many Ideas in my head but no money to back up the projects.
A good one would be a 4age toyota motor 20valve, 4cyl, efi, twin cam, lsd Diff, 120kw and from JMS (japanese motor sport (check out there web sité, sorry no address)) you can get a T3/4 turbo and manafold to boost power to 350hp insane (you can check this motor out in action straped in a corolla on Serious performance 6 Video/DVD it has 400hp at the wheels and does low 11s down the quater in a car weighing over a ton)

Well, I found a quick change reverse rotation unit that would make the 4wd conversion at least possible.

Using a CRV 4wd drive train would mean that it's RWD, and only 4wd when you start to get wheelspin, just like a GT-R. Finding/ making the space will still be the hard part.

what about the 4wd system out ot an 87 4wd chariot then you wouldnt have to worry about rotation... i had a friend that had one.... gutless wonder

Chariot = Nimbus in Oz. Since it's front engine, awd, it poses the same problems as all the other conversions.
The need for the reverse rotation unit comes about from putting the engine in back, but the reverse unit won't actually work with this type of gearbox anyway. No matter how I crunch it, I still can't find a way to make it work.
A front engine all wheel drive job probably wouldn't be that difficult using early Civic wagon parts, but we want it to be mid engined, group B style.
And yes I do realise this sounds like a stupid kid talking crap, but at the least, expect to see a rear engined, rwd City on the road within two years. It's pretty easy if you think about it. There's a guy who built a twin engined (one in the back) Renault 5 in the UK.
I can make no guarantees that my bro builds a awd though.

mercedes make a twin engine car it has two 160kw 1.8s(ithink)one it the front and one lying flat in the back does zero to 100 in like3.5 seconds but they've had to use a really sophisticated computer to run them so they get the same power out of each, i thinks its called something like a clk180 or something

there you go then.. i reckon that having a rear engine 4wd defeats the purpose of having 4wd cos the engine wieght is already in the back so when you accelerate the front wheels get nothing.. much better to have the engine in front.... less egineering aswell, you'd probably flip a rear engined city on its hatch with no front wieght

I think the twin engined Pikes Peak Suzuki Escudo (Suzuki Vitara) speaks volumes for the twin motor concept
